Happinet Reveals Packaging For 20th-Anniversary ‘Ojamajo Doremi’ Anime Feature Film DVD/BD Release

A new feature film in the Ojamajo Doremi world arrived back on November 13th, 2020 and now the home video release plans are settled. Happinet previously scheduled an April 2nd, 2021 release date for the film and now they’ve released the full packaging spread for the set below to check out. The set is coming out on DVD and Blu-ray where they’ll be priced at 5,000 yen and 7,900 yen respectively. The sets come with promos while the blu-ray also gets a making-of video and a scenario book.

Going under the name Majo Minarai o Sagashite, which translates to Looking for Witch Apprentices, it’ll be directed by Junichi Sato based on the screenplay by Midori Kuriyama. Yoshihiko Umakoshi is on board with the character designs with Toei Animation handling the production.

The cast includes Aoi Morikawa as Sora Nagase, Chiemi Chiba as Doremi Harukaze, Kanako Momota as Reika Kawatani, Nami Miyahara as Momoko Asuka, Rena Matsui as Mire Yoshizuki, Rumi Shishido as Onpu Segawa, Sawa Ishige as Pop Harukaze, Tomoko Akiya as Hazuki Fujiwara, Yuki Matsuoka as Aiko Senoo, Akira Ishida as Hayato Yabe, Kenta Hamano as Seiya Kubo, and Shohei Miura as Ryūichi Oomiya.

Plot Concept: The story follows 27-year-old Tokyo office worker Mire Yoshitsuki who just returned to Japan, 22-year-old fourth-year college student Sora Nagase who aspires to be a teacher, and 20-year-old boyish, part-time Hiroshima okonomiyaki shop worker and freelancer Reika Kawatani. What draws together these three women from completely different walks of life is a magic gem. A “New Magical Story” begins when they are mysteriously brought together by chance and embark on a journey.
