Pony Canyon is handling the Japanese release plans for Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid and they’ve set a fairly familiar pattern with a mild adjustment to it. . The fourteen episode series saw a seven-volume release where the DVDs are priced at 5,800 yen each and the Blu-rays at 6,800 yen each, which began on March 15th, 2017. Now, the series is getting its first box set this year with an April 21st, 2021 debut planned for it and we’ve finally got a look at the full packaging spread for it – which if you click below will take you to a larger version. Priced at 23,000 yen, it’s been reauthored from the seven discs down to three but looks to keep everything from the discs with the commentaries and other extras. Check out the details below.

The series was directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto based on the series composition from Yuka Yamada and character designs by Miku Kadowaki.
The Japanese cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as Kobayashi, Yūki Kuwahara as Tohru, Maria Naganawa as Kanna, Yūki Takada as Eruma, Minami Takahashi as Rukoa, Emiri Katou as Riko Saikawa, Yuuko Gotou as Georgie Saikawa and Kaori Ishihara as Magatsuchi Shouta.
The opening theme “Aozora no Rhapsody” was performed by fhána while the group Choro-gonzu, which is made up of the voice actresses from the show, performed the ending theme “Ishukan Communication.”
The work comes from Coolkyoushinja with Seven Seas having picked up the rights to the series back in December 2015.
Plot concept: Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment–until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi’s normal life is about to go off the deep end!
