Five years ago, a string of grisly murders shook the city to its core. Now terror has returned, and this time it has a name: Boogiepop!

Nozomi Entertainment is spending a bit of time looking at a show that they brought out last year with the original Boogiepop Phantom anime adaptation. That release originally came out in the early 2000s but November 2019 was the first time that we got it out on Blu-ray, which you can see the trailer for below and the comparison video of the two formats.

Now, Nozomi Entertainment started bringing the show over to Tubi for streaming. This original 2000 TV series is now streaming in full on the service and is available to viewers in the US and Canada where Nozomi holds the rights to it.

Check out our review of the release.

The Boogiepop Phantom television series features animation by Studio Madhouse (Redline, Death Note, Batman: Gotham Knight), with direction by Takashi Watanabe (Slayers, Shakugan no Shana, Ikki Tousen, Lost Universe) and series concept by Sadayuki Murai (Millennium Actress, Kino’s Journey, Perfect Blue). Created by Kouhei Kadono, the acclaimed Boogiepop series spans more than 14 light novels, multiple light-novel spin-offs and two manga series, in addition to the animated television series and a live-action prequel movie (which is also available from Right Stuf’s Nozomi Entertainment).
