Funimation Debuts ‘SK8 the Infinity’ Anime Dub Trailer

A new high-profile project saw a January 9th, 2021 debut with Aniplex USA set to handle distribution overseas with SK8 the Infinity. Funimation has been handling the streaming of the series and with the first three episodes on the service in English now, they’ve added the first dub trailer to show off the project that you can see below. The series streams on Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Ireland; on AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand; and on Wakanim in France, Germany, and Scandinavia.

The series comes from studio BONES with Hiroko Utsumi serving as the director for it. Their recent works included the lengthy Banana Fish run as well as the Eternal Summer season of Free! Ichiro Okouchi is on board for the scripts while Michinori Chiba ish handling the character designs.

The Japanese cast includes Tasuku Hatanaka as Reki, Chiaki Kobayashi as Langa, Takuma Nagatsuka as Miya, Kenta Miyake as Shadow, Hikaru Midorikawa as Cherry Blossom, Yasunori Matsumoto as Joe, Takehito Koyasu as Adam, and Kensho Ono as Tadashi Kikuchi.

The English dub was directed by Christopher Wehkamp and Kyle Phillips based n the scripts by Jeramey Kraatz and Leah Clark. The cast includes Howard Wang as Langa Hasegawa, Matt Shipman as Reki Kyan, Brandon Johnson as Tadashi Kikuchi, Chris Guerrero as Shadow, Daman Mills as Cherry Blossom, David Wald as Adam, Jonah Scott as Joe, Ry McKeand as Miya, Zeno Robinson as Oka, Ciarán Strange as Fennec Fox, and Colleen Clinkenbeard as Nanako Hasegawa.

Plot Concept: Reki, a high school sophomore and skater, is addicted to “S,” a highly secret and dangerous downhill skateboarding race that takes place in an abandoned mine.

The skaters are especially wild about the “beefs,” or heated battles that erupt in the races.

Reki takes Langa, a transfer student returning to Japan after studying abroad, to the mine where the races are held.

Langa, who has no skateboarding experience, finds himself pulled into the world of “S”…
