The further the series goes along the more I find myself enjoying it less and less. And that’s through no fault of the show itself but just rather that it’s more material than I really wanted to see for it. The last episode was one that focused on the single-story with the gang at preschool levels and it was fun and silly but it was way, way too much material. There is truth to the whole too much of a good thing concept and this one runs with that a lot, especially since this isn’t an expansive cast and we’re moving through familiar gags just repackaged more than I’d care for.

This episode doesn’t have too much going on at first and the opening skit was one that wasn’t even memorable after the fact. The second episode is better as Atsushi stumbles across Dazai who is practically doing a little soliloquy in the park on his own but is really just calling out a raccoon without realizing only to discover that it’s Carl the raccoon. And that just left me wondering where the gag is as it runs through all kinds of comparisons with raccoons and dogs and why people keep them as pets. Dazai’s just going through all kinds of stuff here but it’s all performative for Atsushi who is secretly watching him, but it’s also hard to believe that knowing just how bad Dazai can be about things.

In Summary:
The episode kind of jumps around to different things as it goes on and has one segment with some impressions being done which was at least amusing for a minute or two. There was so little here that got my attention and held it that I’m at a loss to have much to say about it. I’m sure plenty of fans found cute moments but as a whole narrative, it doesn’t have anything strong to work with.
