When Satan is run out of his infernal kingdom, he finds himself virtually powerless in modern-day Tokyo. Stuck in a feeble mortal body and desperate for cash, there’s only one way for the dark lord to survive: by getting a job manning the deep fryer at “MgRonald”!

Netflix had an expiration set for their streaming of The Devil is a Part-Timer! on the service back on January 31st, 2019 and it was sad to see the show go since it’s a fun little drop-in program sometimes. Thankfully, the powers that be decided to renew streaming on it back in April 2019 as the show has returned once more and is available here. The cycle comes around again, however, and after being on the service for almost two years it’s now set to depart once again on March 31st, 2021.

Check out our review of the series as released by Funimation on DVD/BD.

Originally airing in 2013, the series was directed by Naoto Hosoda based on the series composition by Masahiro Yokotani. It features character designs by Atsushi Ikariya and was animated at White Fox. The show is based on the light novel series by writer Satoshi Wagahara and illustrations by 029.

The Japanese cast includes Nao Tōyama as Chiho Sasaki, Ryota Ohsaka as Sadao Maō/Demon King Satan, Yōko Hikasa as Emi Yusa/Heroine Emilia, Yuuki Ono as Shirō Ashiya/Demon General Alciel, Asuka Nishi as Rika Suzuki, Azumi Asakura as Emerada, Hiro Shimono as Hanzō Urushihara/Demon General Lucifer, Hiroki Yasumoto as Albert Ende, Kanae Itō as Suzuno Kamazuki, Katsuhisa Houki as Orba Mayer, Yūichi Iguchi as Mitsuki Sarue/Sariel and Yumi Uchiyama as Mayumi Kisaki.

Plot concept: When Satan is run out of his infernal kingdom, he finds himself virtually powerless in modern-day Tokyo. Stuck in a feeble mortal body and desperate for cash, there’s only one way for the dark lord to survive: by getting a job manning the deep fryer at “MgRonald”!

As Satan flips burgers and tries to regain his evil magic, he’s pestered by a righteous hero who tracked him to Earth, a video-game-loving fallen angel looking for a way back into heaven, and the most unholy of enemies: a rival fast food franchise. Will he figure out a way to reclaim his homeland and throne? And if not, will this demonic burger king at least sell enough featured menu items to be promoted to shift supervisor? The devil can’t survive on minimum wage in the series Anime News Network calls “pure, unadulterated, gloriously fun entertainment.”
