With Warner Bros. embracing the multiverse as well as exploring soft reboots of some of their properties as they move forward, it’s no surprise that Superman would fall into this realm. While we’re still hearing that Henry Cavill wants to continue on with the character, the development of a new film is moving away from the Snyder production realm as it looks like J.J. Abrams is going to be producing under his Bad Robot banner with Warner Bros. and DC.
The latest to surface on this is that Ta-Nehisi Coates is working on developing a treatment for it with Hanna Minghella serving as a producer as well. There are no details, no plot, and no actors are attached to it at the moment.
Coates has a wide range of written works on top of his journalism and columns with non-fiction books and work on comics for Marvel.
