The journey continues - now streaming!

It looks like the folks at Discotek Media are making a foray into the world of Saiyuki as it appears that they’ve picked up the rights to Saiyuki Reload. The 2003 series was originally released by Geneon Entertainment with its twenty-five-episode run brought out in bilingual form on DVD at the time. The show has now been added to Crunchyroll for streaming with it available in the US and Canada, the first mention of the series being tied to Discotek Media itself.

The show was written and directed by Tetsuya Endo while Noriko Otake handled the character designs and it was animated at Pierrot.

The Japanese cast includes Akira Ishida as Cho Hakkai, Hiroaki Hirata as Sha Gojyo, Sōichiro Hoshi as Son Goku, and Toshihiko Seki as Genjo Sanzo.

The opening theme song is “Wild Rock” from BUZZLIUP the ending theme songs are “ID” by flow-war and “Fukisusabu Kaze no Naka” by WAG.

Plot Concept: Priest Genjo Sanzo and companions Cho Hakkai, Sha Gojyo, and Son Goku maintain their westward journey to stop the resurrection of the demon Gyoumao. As the reputation of the Sanzo Ikkou precedes them, they continue to fight demon assassins at every turn, but they must also deal with increasing tensions within their group in order to defeat a powerful enemy.
