The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Life at the station runs into a problem with this episode as Mr. Catfish isn’t interested in coming out of his room there as the latest script he got makes it clear that his jokes aren’t good. That makes him upset in general but it’s even worse this time around as his daughter and her friends are in the audience and he’s worried about embarrassing her. It’s a pretty good setup that has Ciee stepping in to try and smooth things over by saying he likes his jokes but his attempt falls flat, leaving them a last ditch hope of getting his daughter Numeko to step in and get him to step up. The father/daughter dynamic is hilarious here in how it works out.
In Summary:
ABCiee continues to be one of the most delightful new shows of the season. It hits a really nice sweet spot with each episode and it knows how to use its running time well so that it doesn’t feel rushed but instead feels longer than it is. That’s not an easy balance to achieve but they’ve got it just right here. This episode is cute in how it deals with Mr. Catfish and I loved the introduction of his daughter. Adorable stuff!
