Slowly but surely, more Prince of Tennis anime is getting made. We learned awhile ago that the next installment of the franchise is The New Prince of Tennis: Hyotei vs Rikkai Game of Future. The project is planned for a two-part release that will arrive in theaters in Japan in theaters and streaming. The first part just made its debut in Japan with a February 13th, 2021 premiere date and with that set it didn’t take long for the official site to update with the second part plans. That’s now set for an April 17th, 2021 premiere.
The project has set Keiichiro Kawaguchi to direct based on the script by Mitsutaka Hirota. Akihiaru Ishii is on board for the character designs for it.
This is a new original story focusing on this particular match/rivalry.
Plot Concept: The Seigaku tennis club has been invited to train at the U-17 (Under 17) camp. Seigaku is one of the 50 middle schools invited and must compete with high school players to prove they are just as good.
