Will anyone ever be able to license ComicFesta properties?

ComicFesta has revealed the next project that they’re working on with Kuro-Gyaru ni Natta Kara Shinyū to Yatte Mita, which is localized as I Became a Kuro-Gyaru* so I F***ed My Best Friend. The series is set for an April 4th, 2021 debut with the first episode on their YouTube channel and their own streaming service already. The series looks to be like other ComicFesta projects of late in that it has a broadcast and a premium version but it’s not operating with two different casts for it.

The series is directed by Chokko based on the scripts by Eeyo Kurosaki and Rei Ishikura. MCQ1 is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director with studio Irawiazu handling the production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Makoto Furukawa as Rui Chihaya
  • Kazutomi Yamamoto as Shion Chihara

The manga comes from Yupopo Orishima.

Plot Concept: The “gender-swap romantic comedy” centers around Shion Chihara and Rui Chihaya, two tight college friends who are unrivaled in picking up women. One day, Shion is given a drug by a mysterious woman and wakes up in a woman’s body. It was love at first sight for Rui, despite not initially realizing that this woman before him is actually his best friend Shion.
