The winter 2021 anime adaptation of the yuri-themed science fiction novel series Otherside Picnic is getting its home video releases handled by Sony Pictures Japan. The twelve-episode series is being released as two Blu-ray box sets that will be priced at 19,800 yen with them scheduled for May 26th, 2021 and July 28th, 2021. The anime was directed by Takiya Sato at LIDEN Films and Felix Films where he also handled the scripts.
The Japanese cast includes Yumiri Hanamori as Sorao Kamikoshi and Ai Kayano as Toriko Nishina along with Rina Hidaka as Kozakura and Miyu Tomita as Akari Seto.
CHICO with Honeyworks will be handling the opening theme song while Miki Sato will handle the ending theme song.
The original work comes from writer Iori Miyazawa with artwork by shirakaba. It began in 2017 and has four volumes out so far. A manga began in 2018 by Eita Mizuno that has three volumes out. J-Novel Club is currently publishing the novel series.
