A new anime adaptation is on its way as it was revealed in July 2020 that Hajime Musashino’s manga series Burning Kabaddi had gotten the go-ahead. That announcement was light with details but since then we also learned of a spring 2021 premiere for the show. The series has set Kazuya Ichikawa as the director with Yuuko Kakihara handling the scripts with Midori Gotou. Mari Takada is on board with the character designs and TMS Entertainment handling the production.

Now, the theme song side has been set up for the show. The official site has revealed that Shunya Ohira is on board to perform the opening theme song “Fire Bord” for it while lead actor Yuma Uchida will perform the ending theme song with “Comin’ Back” for it.

The Japanese cast includes Yuma Uchida as Tatsuya Hoigoshi, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Masato Ohiyo,  Gen Sato as Soma Azemachi, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Kyohei Misumi, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Shinji Date, Shinichiro Kamio as Nobutaka Ban, Wataru Komada as Ryuta Seki, and Ayumu Murase as Yuuki Hitomi.

The original manga series by Hajime Musashino began in 2015 in Manga One and Ura Sunday and has thirteen volumes to its name so far and is ongoing as of the anime announcement.
