The latest round of charts to roll out from ICv2 covers another part of what happened in January 2021 by looking at the graphic novel market as a whole – by units and by dollars. This one tends to not vary as wildly as the comics one does because we don’t usually get single-issue comics that are out of the norm that often. One of the fun things about the graphic novel side is that there are things that turn out big here that aren’t usually thought about within the periodical marketplace but do big numbers. Such as Reckless taking the top spot here for the by units side, especially with its $24.99 price point. Often, we figure it’ll be trades of popular monthly books but instead there are a lot of originals, a good smattering of manga, and some collections that may not do well monthly but are supported in a big way in trade form.
