The winter 2021 anime adaptation of the manga Horimiya by HERO and Daisuke Hagiwara now has its home video release plans set for Japan. Aniplex Japan is handling the show there with the thirteen-episode series scheduled for a seven-volume release on DVD and Blu-ray. All volumes are listed as limited editions where the first volume with one episode is priced at 3,000 and 4,000 yen respectively while the remaining six volumes of two episodes each are priced at 5,800 yen and 6,800 yen respectively for each format. The series is set to begin its release on February 24th, 2021 and we’ve got a look at the first volume release details and cover artwork below along with the full schedule.

The series will have Masashi Ishihama directing based on the series composition by Takao Yoshioka. Haruka Iizuka is handling the character designs with production being handled by CloverWorks.

The Japanese cast includes Haruka Tomatsu as Kyouko Hori and Kouki Uchiyama as Izumi Miyamura. The supporting cast includes Seiichiro Yamashita Naruse as Toru Ishikawa and Yurie Kozakai (Pekola in Dropkick on My Devil!!) as Yuki Yoshikawa. Plot Concept: Admired at school for her friendly attitude and academic achievements, high school student Kyouko Hori has been hiding another side to herself. With her parents often away from home due to work, Hori also has to look after her younger brother and do the housework, leaving no opportunities to make friends and socialize outside of school. Meanwhile, Izumi Miyamura is seen as a brooding, glasses-wearing, otaku. In reality, he is a gentle person hopeless at studying. He also has nine piercings hidden behind his long hair and a tattoo along his back and left shoulder.

By sheer happenstance, Hori and Miyamura cross paths outside of school—neither looking as the other expects. These seemingly polar opposites become fast friends, sharing with each other a side of themselves they have never shown to anyone else.
