There’s going to be a lot of anticipation for this as a show that served as a gateway into anime for a lot of people. We learned in April 2020 that Tokyo Mew Mew is getting a new anime adaptation – and even its creators are surprised by this. With it being mostly quiet since then with auditions and casting going on, the official site has now revealed the main cast for the new adaptation of the series. The Japanese cast includes:
- Yūki Tenma as Ichigo
- Mirai Hinata as Mint Aizawa
- Ryōko Jūni as Lettuce Midorikawa
- Rian Toda as Pudding Fong
- Momoka Ishii as Zakuro Fujiwara

They’ll make their first appearance together in the next Japanese live stream on February 22nd, 2021.
The original TV series ran for 52 episodes back in 2002.

The original manga by Reiko Yohida and Mia Ikumi began in 2003 and ran for seven volumes as published by Tokyopop. Kodansha Comics has released them more recently in omnibus editions in both print and digital.
