We learned in October 2020 that a new OVA is on the way for the game Alice Gear Aegis and it’s definitely getting an interesting presentation in Japan that won’t carry overseas if it gets picked up. The OVA is going to be accessible through a QR code that will be included with figures that are being produced by three different manufacturers. Each version is set to be between ten to fifteen minutes each with what I’m guessing is going to be three total, one for each manufacturer.
We didn’t have any details before but now the official site has cleared things up. The OVA has Hirokazu Hanai directing it based on the script by Masahiro Okubo. Rikiya Okano is handling the character designs while Nomad will handle the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Maaya Uchida as Sitara Kaneshiya
- Eriko Matsui as Yumi Yotsuya
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Sugumi Kanagata
- Manami Numakura as Yotsuyu Hirasaka
- Yui Ishikawa as Fumika Momoshina
- Yuna Taniguchi as Toka Shimoochiai
The production is expected to run for 15 minutes and debut summer 2021.
Property Concept: The game is set in a world where centuries have passed since mankind has abandoned Earth after an invasion by mechanical alien beings called the Vice, and now lives in interstellar generation starships called Shards made out of fragments of Earth’s moon, each of which replicates a place and age from Earth’s history. In the time since the exodus from Earth, technology has advanced to the point where mankind can now hold its ground against the Vice with the aid of Actresses, young women who have the innate ability to use Alice Gears, special equipment that is especially effective against the Vice. The player takes on the role of a new employee to the small Actress agency Narukozaka Manufacturing, located in a Shard replicating 21st century Tokyo.
