Kadokawa Schedules ‘World Witches: Take Off!’ Anime DVD/BD/LE Releases

The latest series gets its home video release plans updated.

The winter 2021 anime seires World Witches: Take Off! is getting its home video releases handled by Kadokawa and they’ve set a decent schedule for the short-form-ish series. The twelve episode series is getting two sets with six episode per set, but each set is focused on a different group with the first on the 501st and the second on the 502nd. They’re being released in August and September respectively thusly:

First part (501 version: eps 1 – 6): August 25, 2021
– BD LE: 12,500 yen
– BD Reg: 9,000 yen
– DVD Reg: 8,000 yen

Second part (502 version: eps 1 – 6): September 29, 2021
– BD LE: 12,500 yen
– BD Reg: 9,000 yen
– DVD Reg: 8,000 yen

The series sees Fumio Ito directing it with Kei Anjiki handling the character designs while acca effe and Giga Production handled the animation.

The Japanese cast includes Misato Fukuen as Yoshika Miyafuji, Saori Seto as Mio Sakamoto, Kaori Nazuka as Lynette Bishop, Miyuki Sawashiro as Perrine-H. Clostermann, Rie Tanaka as Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, Mie Sonozaki as Gertrud Barkhorn, Sakura Nogawa as Erica Hartmann, Chiwa Saito as Francesca Lucchini, Ami Koshimizu as Charlotte E Yeager, Mai Kadowaki as Sanya V. Litvyak, and Ayuru Ōhashi as Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen.

Yoko Ishida is handling the opening theme song with “Wanna Fly?” while the ending theme song is “Colorful Everyday” which has different cast members performing.

 

Plot Concept: The property overall focuses on an alien invasion by beings known as the Neuroi. The only way to damage and ultimately defeat them lies in Witches, girls who possess magical powers and are capable of wielding Striker Units that enhances their abilities and allow them to maneuver in the air. The characters in the franchise are often based on real-life aerial aces from various nationalities.
