Cuteness ahoy!

A pretty cute show is in our future with the Bungo Stray Dogs spinoff work with Bungo Stray Dogs Ruff! Announced in June 2020, the series was previously set for a January 12th, 2021 debut where it’ll be directed by Satonobu Kikuchi based on the scripts from Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Hiromi Daimi is adapting the character designs and Bones is handling the animation promotion.

The latest update out of Japan for the show is a pretty simple one as we get one more commercial before it arrives early next week!

The previously announced cast includes Yūto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima, Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida, Sumire Morohoshi as Kyōka Izumi, Kensho Ono as Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Kishō Taniyama as Chūya Nakahara, Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa, Hiroyuki Kagura as Kenji Miyazawa, Yu Shimamura as Akiko Yosano, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Junichirō Tanizaki, Chiaki Omigawa as Naomi Tanizaki, Rikiya Koyama as Yukichi Fukuzawa, Mitsuru Miyamoto as Ōgai Mori, and Sora Amamiya as Elise.

The manga comes from Kanaineko which was launched in 2015 and has six volumes out as of the end of 2019.

Funimation has released the main TV series work on home video while Yen Press has brought the main manga out in English.

The series will feature the ending theme song “Namae wo Yobu yo” by Atsushi Nakajima.

Check out the official site and Twitter.

Plot Concept: The series shows the manga’s characters in super-deformed mode in comedic gag scenes.
