Based on the four-panel manga by Fumi Ayamiya, this series had its first season land around the same time in 2019 but it never got picked up. It also had a few additional episodes streamed in the summer with news that another season was coming. Crunchyroll has the first season coming later but we’re digging into this straight on to try and get a handle on it.
With a successful fight out of the way at the start here, done in 8-bit mode, it shifts gears to everyone deciding that it’s time to head back and check out the armor shop so they can get things updated. That’s a nice little starting bit that leads us into the opening sequence that has one of the characters naming the main creative staff, which is a nice and rare choice. All of that serves to take us to the armor shop where it’s all focused on particular pieces of design for female adventurers and some of their different needs when it comes to armor. This is the kind of place where they handle the strange well, such as the armor Liliette got that fell from the sky which is alive and talks. It plays to a cute bit of perverted material in how it portrays itself so you get plenty of fanservice from the cast as we start to know them including a banana peel slip.
In Summary:
The setup for this show is a little odd as it runs for ten minutes but the main story is dealt with in the first three minutes or so. What we get afterward is kind of fluffy material that plays in the very light and easy to animate realm compared to the main show. And, frankly, isn’t all that amusing either. Not that the main show was something fantastic but it puts into place the basics well enough and is very well-animated, making me curious to see what it’ll deal with as it settles more into itself for this second season. If you like all the additional fluff, including time with some of the voice actors at the end talking about the episode, you’ll get more out of the full ten-minute run than me.
