The Project Anima site revealed back in August 2019 the title for their new project with Sacks&Guns!!, which was to make its debut in 2020. We learned in late March 2020 that the show was getting pushed back to 2021 but haven’t had much since. Now, the site has updated to reveal the theme song side of things. Masaki Endoh is on board for the opening theme song “Kokotsu Labyrinth” while the ending theme song “Shine” is handled by MindaRyn.
The project is based on a runner-up novel submission and a visual was released for it above and the main staffing and initial casting. As we knew then, Junichi Wada will direct with Yuji Iwahara as the character designer with Shunpei Mochizuki adapting them to animation. Satelight is handling the animation production for it.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Kanon Amane as the heroine Memenpu
- Hiroki Touchi as Gagamba, a father who is no good at anything
- Kana Hanazawa as Zackletu, a mysterious woman tracking Memenpu and Gaganbaa
- Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Yuri, a cunning hacker in a youth gang
- Hikaru Midorikawa
- Minami Tsuda
