“Everyone’s Dream, My Dream”

What They Say:
Nijigasaki High School is known for its diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara. Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.

Yu and Kasumi are trying to get the School Idol Festival approved by the student council. It’s not going too well though. No one knows what a School Idol Festival is supposed to be. Well, except for the student council president. I wonder why she’s so knowledgeable!? Anyway, it’s not like the student council hates their idea or anything. In fact, they think it’s a lovely idea. They just need to work on their proposal a bit more. Time to get to work! The first thing they need to do is scout possible venues. As you can probably imagine, each girl has a different venue in mind for the concert. It’s going to be tough deciding which venue will satisfy all of the School Idol members. On the bright side, at least they had a lot of fun checking out all of the different venues.

The School Idol Club also needs to check if other idol clubs will join their festival. Yu, Setsuna, Karin, and Kanata meet up with representatives of the Shinonome and Touou school idol clubs. Both schools think that Nijigasaki’s festival is a great idea! They’d love to be a part of it. Himeno from Shinonome Academy is especially excited. Why wouldn’t she be? She gets to perform on the same stage as Karin! In case you forgot, she’s a huge Karin fangirl. Karin gives Himeno a little bit of service by touching her cheek and passionately gazing into her eyes. Blushing intensifies! Himeno is in heaven. Alright, that’s one hurdle they’ve overcome. They still have to figure out what to do about the venue.

Kasumi has got a bright idea! She creates the Kasumin Box where students can pitch ideas about where they’d like to see Kasumi perform. As the name of the box suggests, it looks just like her. I’m not going to lie, it does look pretty adorable. Setsuna wholeheartedly agrees. Sadly, there are no requests inside the Kasumin Box. Kasumi is not amused. The other girls decide to use the Kasumin Box to ask for any suggestions about the School Idol Festival, not just where they’d like to see Kasumi perform, haha. Rina decides to make a website for the festival. That’s actually a great idea. That’ll certainly get it more attention.

Some of the girls are running to build up their stamina. Ayumu sees Yu talking with Setsuna. Oh yeah, I almost forgot that Ayumu is currently in a jealous mood. She really doesn’t want anyone else to have Yu, huh? The next day, the girls discover that the Kasumin Box is filled with suggestions! It’s nice to see so many people excited for the festival. Yu and Kasumi once again take their proposal to the student council. They know what they want to accomplish with this festival. Everyone is encouraging them and willing to help make this a reality. They owe it to all of their supporters to make their wishes come true, too! That’s why they don’t want to just perform in one venue. They want to perform in all of them! The idea is to let the various idols perform that the venue they want. They want the whole town to get involved! Quite the ambitious venture, don’t you think? But the student council sees nothing wrong with it. The School Idol Festival is approved! On a side note, one of the student council members is a Setsuna fan, haha. If she only knew!

As for the rest of the episode, well, it’s all about Ayumu’s jealousy. At night, she takes a walk with Setsuna and is shocked to learn that Yu is practicing the piano. She didn’t know that. Ayumu can’t accept the fact that there’s something about Yu that she doesn’t know! Yu texts her to come over to her place and of course, she rushes over. Ayumu confronts her about the piano and gets angry. Why did she tell Setsuna!? Why didn’t she tell her!? Jealousy intensifies! Forget about the piano. That’s not what Yu wants to talk about. She actually wants to talk about a dream that’s further ahead. But before she can share her dream, Ayumu tackles her onto her bed. She doesn’t want to hear anymore! Yu promised that she’d see her dream through with her. She promised to always be by her side. Ayumu only wants to be a schooi idol for Yu. That’s why she wants Yu to only belong to her. Also, Ayumu decides to play footsie with Yu at that moment. Oh boy…

Since there was no new song featured in this episode (sadface.png), please enjoy an official clip of the opening theme, “Rainbow Passions!”

In Summary:
The School Idol Festival is a go! I have high hopes for it and I hope it delivers. The fact that there are going to be various performances in different venues should be interesting. We better get some new songs, too. It has been two episodes in a row without any performances. I think I may be suffering from withdrawal. I need a new song, dangit! Oh, I guess I should talk about Ayumu. I think we all knew that she was a bit possessive of Yu. However, I didn’t think she was this possessive. She actually wants Yu to only belong to her. Yikes! I can understand where she’s coming from though. Ayumu isn’t the only person on Yu’s mind anymore. She’s thinking about each and every single member of the School Idol Club. She wants all of their dreams to come true. Ayumu can’t accept that. She feels like she’s losing her best friend. It’s a scary feeling, you know? I would like to add that the episode did a great job with the visuals and symbolism. It was a great way for us to visually see how Ayumu was feeling. She’s drifting apart from her good friend! Although let’s be honest, it feels like she thinks of Yu as more than just a good friend. Needless to say, Ayumu’s mindset is not healthy. I hope she doesn’t go full yandere! Yu doesn’t belong to just her, she belongs to everyone. After all, this is a yuri harem show, is it not!? But seriously, I do hope she gets it together. I am interested to see how the show will end up resolving this. And lastly, why was that footsie scene animated so well…
