What They Say:
You are the protagonist. A new project in virtual anime from SMIRAL Animation that also brought you the “Anitore” series and “Makuranodanshi.” This time, the project is about 3 stories that develop in your (one) room.
The Review: Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
The relationship that’s been built with Saya has been one of the more awkward ones in the series I think simply because it hasn’t connected as well as it should. We’ve had good moments between the two but things haven’t cemented enough so that when “we” end up failing at our test and basically run and hide from the world, Saya’s finding us doesn’t resonate as much as it should because it already feels out of character for “us” based on what we’ve seen so far. Saya does start to make clearer her feelings toward him and what he means to her and that plays out nicely at the start, but she’s also realizing she’s overstepped the bounds she set for herself and runs off elsewhere in the park, only to be found by him again. Which means a Ferris Wheel ride in order to hash things out and make things official. Or as official as they get in this kind of property.
In Summary:
One Room takes us to a new place for Saya and her man of interest but it took some awkward turns to get there. I do like how it ends here with her realizing that hanging out at his place feels different now and hopefully the two can find a better balance for their relationship. This wasn’t a bad arc as it unfolded but it really felt less formed than some of the other ones for me and just didn’t connect as well as past seasons.
