The winter 2020 anime series Pet is getting some new attention after finishing its run and getting a Japanese home video release this past summer already. Sentai Filmworks has announced their pickup of the series with plans for a home video release in the first half of 2021. After that is done and out, they’ll be able to add streaming destinations to it which is when it’s likely to expire on Amazon.

Sentai has the rights to work this title in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Nordic Countries, Spain, Portugal and Central and South America.

It was directed by Takahiro Omori based on the series composition by Sadayuki Murai. Geno Studio handled the animation for the production. The show was broadcast in Japan with its streaming handled by Amazon Prime Video both in Japan and worldwide.

The Japanese cast includes Keisuke Ueda as Hiroki, Kishō Taniyama as Tsukasa, Yuuki Ono as Satoru, Yasuyuki Kase as Hayashi, Shunsuke Sakuya as Katsuragi, M.A.O as Jin, Koji Yusa as Ron, and Nobuo Tobita as company president.

The manga by Ranjou Miyake had five volumes released for it in a Remaster Edition back in 2009.

Plot Concept: Hiroki and Tsukasa can manipulate the minds memories of anyone they target. With that power comes a dangerous prospect for those who wield it — madness or even erasure of a person’s entire self. And yet, an intense bond protects their psyches from corruption. But that bond is threatened when a powerful crime syndicate plots to exploit Hiroki and Tsukasa’s gifts to commit horrific crimes. Now they must do the unimaginable if they are to live to see one another again. Is the price of reunion a shattered mind and destruction of everything held dear?
