The mobile game Azur Lane was announced back in September 2017 an anime adaptation that hit back on October 3rd, 2019. With that series done and settled, a short-form series is now set for a January 11th, 2021 debut with Azur Lane Bisoku Zenshin. The official site has now updated with a new promo for it that shows off more animation and theme song material.

This project has Masato Jinbo directing it based on the scripts from Yu Sato. Hiromitsu Hagiwara is working on the character designs with Yostar Pictures and CANDY BOX producing the animation. Check out the key visual to the right for it and the new promo below!

The Japanese cast includes Nozomi Yamane as Javelin, Yō Taichi as Ayanami, Maria Naganawa as Laffey, Rika Abe as Z23, Sumire Uesaka as Akashi, Minami Takahashi as Baltimore, and Ayane Sakura as Prinz Eugen.

Check out the official site and Twitter for the main series and the official site and Twitter for the shorts.

Game Concept: Azur Lane features an interactive combat system that combines the best of strategy and 2D shooter games. Players must command a flotilla, divided into two parts: the Vanguard Fleet and the Main Fleet. While the Vanguard is responsible for striking and clearing operations, the Main Fleet must focus on fire support and dealing damage to enemy ships. Strategy is key, and players must build their fleets carefully to succeed on the high seas. Players can strengthen their fleets from the base via the Academy and Dorms, where they can earn experience points, buy items from the shop, or improve their skills in the Classroom.
