The fall 2020 anime adaptation of the app game King’s Raid: Heirs of the Will is getting its home video releases handled by NBC Universal Japan. Originally, the twenty-six-episode series was being done as a six-volume release on Blu-ray only that begins on December 23rd, 2020. Each disc in the set is priced at 9,800 yen. Each set comes with a code for the game as well which will be a draw for game players. That, however, has now been canceled due to “various reasons” as you can see from the tweet below. The tweet doesn’t indicate that it will be resolicited in some other form, though one suspects that we’ll see a pair of box sets down the line once things are closer to being done and they have a better handle on how to market the release.
The series was directed by Makoto Hoshino based on the scripts from Megumi Shimizu. Tatsuya Arai is working as the character designer and chief animation director with OLM and Sunrise Beyond handling the production.
The Japanese cast includes the same from the game with Kaito Ishikawa as Kasel, Ai Kakuma as Frey, Ari Ozawa as Cleo, Kengo Kawanishi as Roi, Ryōta Suzuki as Rihito, Yoshino Nanjō as Lupine, Takuma Terashima as Clause, Shun Horie as Theo, Ryotaro Okiayu as Dominicus, Kentaro Ito as Marduk, Masaya Matsukaze as Kyle, Sakura Nakamura as Maria, Mitsuki Nakae as Scarlet, Mika Kanda as Demia, Emi Hirayama as Lorraine, Juri Nagatsuma as Selene, Takako Tanaka as Ophelia, Moe Toyota as Jane, Yūki Takada as Reina, and Riho Iida as Elise.
