What They Say:
“DIVE TO THE NEXT OCEAN”
The battle with Donedevimon is over at last. However, destiny wasted no time in bringing the next adventure to the Chosen Ones. Koshiro’s group is dealing with tanker collisions while Taichi’s group is attacked by a cluster of Mamemon.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
How long does it take to fall from the sky? Taichi and Yamato defeated Donedevimon and the earth beneath them crumble to pieces. They’re in freefall for what seems to be an eternity. Taichi’s hair is all over the place but Yamato’s hair is static. How much gel does he use to make it stay like that? Eldorarimon joins them in falling down the limitless sky. Leomon swoops in with Spadamon, Falcomon, and Peckmon, to save them. Leomon brings up various good points that no one has any answers to. Eldorarimon is a mega level Digimon and Leomon wonders why such a Digimon would serve under Devimon, a champion level.
They are attacked by a group of Mamemon and Bigmamemon. Agumon and Gabumon are exhausted from their endless battle to do much. Now would be a good time to demonstrate Eldorarimon’s strength but he can’t do anything in this battle. Taichi and Yamato take a cue from Takeru’s playbook and run into danger. And now Takeru can learn from his mistakes as he screams in terror. The hot-blooded shonen spirit throws logic out the window as Taichi and Yamato yell in unison that allows the tired Agumon and Gabumon to digivolve.
The other DigiDestined, Joe, Sora, Koshiro, and Mimi, exist to do nothing. I wonder why this show pushes them so hard to the background. They’re just there seeing how World War 3 is about to break out because of tankers crashing. Something that this season has been doing is wanting the real world and the Digital World to be more interrelated. When something happens in the Digital World there is an effect on the real world. Its hints that these group will have a role later to help out Taichi and Yamato. For some reason, Kairi just so happens to be right next to them. Clearly, Taichi and Kairi’s mother doesn’t seem to notice that her children disappear all the time.
In Summary:
This episode isn’t diving to the next ocean. It’s sinking straight to the bottom of the sea without much hope of breathing. If this was meant to be a breather episode, it didn’t do its job correctly. It would have been a nice time to focus on the characters interacting with one another. But it speeding past them and moving towards the end goal. It never stops to smell the roses. This show would benefit from a true beak from any plot where the Digidestined can relax and bond with their Digimon. Another issue that heeps popping is one minute, levels have a definite meaning, and then the next, they’re thrown out the window.
