We learned in April 2020 that another manga is being slotted for an anime adaptation with Heaven’s Design Team. The series was originally set for a July 2021 debut and but we learned earlier this fall that it’s now set for a January 2021 debut through the main broadcast networks. As that gets closer, the official site has updated as a new promotional video has dropped that comes with the news of a January 7th, 2021 premiere date and who is involved with the theme songs. The opening theme song is “Give It Up?” by 96Neko while the ending theme song “Designed by Heaven!” is performed by cast under the unit named Paraiso Shain Stars. The series will have Soichi Masui directing based on the series composition by Michiko Yokote. Sachiko Oohashi is adapting the character designs with Asahi Production handling the animation.
The Japanese cast includes Junya Enoki as Shimoda and Yumi Hara as Ueda. Additional casting includes Kazuhiko Inoue as Tsuchiya, Yuichiro Umehara as Kimura, Junichi Suwabe as Mizushima, Daisuke Kishio as Kanamori, Naomi Ōzora as Meido, Ryota Takeuchi as Unabara, Asuna Tomari as Higuchi, Hina Kino as Kenta, Ryota Ohsaka as Yokota, Takahiro Mizushima as Mushibu, and Naoki Tatsuta as God.
The work comes from creator Hebi-Zou, Tsuta Suzuki, and TAKARO as Tenchi Sozo Design-bu which began in 2017 and has five volumes out as of the announcement. Kodansha Comics is bringing it out in English digitally.
