I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for mascot characters when done well because they can add a nice bit of silliness that’s easy to exploit in terms of marketing. The Osaka broadcaster Asahi BRoadcasting Corporation has revealed that they’ve got an anime that will arrive in January 2021 based on its mascot character Abciee. The new series is called Abciee Study Diary and will have Aoi Yuki voicing the character.
The show will be directed by Ryosuke Aoikie.
Plot Concept: The show revolves around Abciee, an unidentified mysterious animal who was attracted by radio waves to come to Osaka’s Nakanoshima sandbank five years ago. As a new employee in the “Ebishi” TV station, she struggles to improve herself with the help of friends and colleagues.
