Vertical Comics made an interesting pickup on the manga front as announced at NYCC 2018 with Don’t Mess With Me, Nagatoro. The series comes from creator Nanashi which began serialization in late 2017 through the Pocket website which has eight volumes out as of July 9th, 2020. Right around that time, we had an anime adaptation announced which is on track for a spring 2021 premiere for it.

The latest round of updates has come in that goes in a couple of different directions. First, we have a new key visual below to check out and there’s also an audio drama that was posted to the Japanese site. It’s naturally not translated but we know there are folks who like to hone their translation skills and might have fun with it. Finally, it was revealed that leading actor Sumire Uesaka will be performing the opening theme song for the series which will definitely be a big plus.

The series will be directed by Hirokazu Hanai working from the series composition by Taku Kishimoto. Misaki Suzuki is on board as the character designer while Telecom Animation Film will be handling the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Sumire Uesaka as Nagatoro
  • Daiki Yamashita as Senpai
  • Mikako Komatsu as Gamo-chan
  • Aina Suzuki as Yosshii
  • Shiori Izawa as Sakura

Check out the official site and Twitter.
