Last week, it was life at the rich girls’ school. This week, we see how the other…well, not quite half, but we see the preparations for the Culture Festival at Cocoa and Chiya’s school, where their class is putting on a cafe. It’s the first time we get to see their classmates and learn something about them…they are not quite the complete oddballs that our two main girls are, but they’re about what you might expect from this show. A bit off-kilter, especially the Class Representative.
In the return match, as it were, Rize, Sharo, and the Chimametai visit the festival where it is revealed that Chiya and Cocoa sought to give their cafe an edge over the competition by borrowing some decorations from the rich girls’ school (that was how they happened to visit Rize and Sharo’s school in last week’s episode)…and by turning it into a beer hall.
A beer hall?
But of course. This being Rabbit, you should expect the offbeat and the erratic. Don’t worry, the world does not defy the law as the girls are serving apple juice in beer mugs that is foamed to look like beer, but isn’t. Their Oktoberfest beer hall is appropriately cliched down to the dirndl-style waitress dresses the girls wear. The episode is largely just another excuse to put the girls in cosplay, this time including Aoyama and her editor, who also visit the “beer” hall.
There is the slightest hint of a serious undertone here, as again we have the continuing question of Chino’s decision about which high school to choose put in front of us. As Chino has a very fun time visiting Cocoa’s school, it seems that perhaps her mind is now made up. Not that there is any kind of heavy or profound thought going on. Instead, we get to see Chino walk around wearing a Tippy…it’s like a helmet really, the headpiece to a full-body costume, with the actual Tippy on top.
Times may change, but Rabbit continues to provide good vibes and light humor to sooth the troubled soul. There might well be changes in store for the future, but that is not now. Now is the time for cosplay. Next week, I don’t know. But I suspect it’ll be fun.
In Summary:
Chiya and Cocoa’s school are putting on their Culture Festival, so their class decides to run a cafe. But there is competition, so the girls decide to convert their cafe into a beer hall…yes, a beer hall…but one that serves apple juice. They are still minors. It’s the usual mixture of weirdly off-beat humor and cuteness that Rabbit always is. And it’s fun.
