A battle among friends with a bitter end ...

The fall 2019 anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization may be moving through its last round of simulcast episodes with the sequel side of it with War of the Underworld, but the original part of this run is about to get some new distribution. German distributor Peppermint Anime brought out the first collection under a season three listing where we’re getting four volumes to cover it, the first having seven episodes. The separate DVD and Blu-ray sets landed on September 3rd, 2020 and the distributor now has two additional dub clips, the fifth and sixth of their current run of doing so, out to highlight the German dub for it with both action material and standard dialogue-driven material

Manabu Ono is directing it and A-1 Pictures handling the animation production. Gou Suzuki, Tomoya Nishiguchi, and Shingo Adachi are handling the character designs.

The announced cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kirito, Haruka Tomatsu as Asuna, Ai Kayano as Alice, and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Eugeo.

Plot Concept: Kirito awakens in a vast, fantastical forest filled with towering trees. In his search for clues to the truth of his surroundings, he encounters a young boy who seems to know him. He ought to be a simple NPC, but the depth of his emotions seem no different than a human.

As they search for the boy’s parents, Kirito finds a peculiar memory returning to him. A memory from his own childhood, of this boy and a girl, too, with golden hair, and a name he should have never forgotten Alice.
