One manga series that did well years ago and saw an OVA adaptation that Central Park Media released in the 1990s was Tokyo Babylon. The property comes from CLAMP where it ran from 1990 to 1993 in seven volumes but had re-issues down to five volumes. Dark Horse Comics has brought it out in English in two omnibus volumes.
The new anime incarnation doesn’t have a lot of details beyond being set for 2021 where studio GoHands is producing the property. They’ve launched the social media and official site for it as well.
Check out the official site and Twitter.
Plot Concept: It’s 1991, the last days of Japan’s bubble economy, and money and elegance run through the streets. So do the currents of darkness beneath them, nourishing evil spirits that only the arts of the onmyoji – Japan’s legendary occultists – can combat. The two most powerful onmyoji are in the unlikely guises of a handsome young veterinarian, Seishiro, and the teenage heir to the ancient Sumeragi clan, Subaru.
