Funimation Reveals ‘Actors: Song Connection’ Anime Blu-ray Preorder Trailer

Funimation picked up the rights for the fall 2019 anime series Actors: Song Connection, which is part of a larger multimedia project. The show is now getting some attention as it’s lined up for a November 3rd, 2020 debut, and Funimation has now brought out their preorder trailer for it. It’ll be priced at $64.95 and will be in bilingual form for its twelve-episode run. Extras for the release include:

  • Character Promo Videos featuring Saku Otonomiya, Sosuke Kagura, and Uta Outa
  • Promo Videos
  • Commercials
  • Textless Opening & Closing Songs

Produced at Sound Cadence Studios, the English dub has  Amber Lee Connors serving as the ADR director based on the scripts by Marissa Lenti. Howard Wang serves as the script supervisor. With this being such a music-oriented show, they’ve got Dawn M. Bennett on board as the music director working with the lyrics by AmaLee. Steven Kelly and Emily Fajardo are credited with harmonies while Shawn Christmas is listed as song mix.

The English cast includes Brandon McInnis as Saku, Aaron Campbell as Sosuke, Howard Wang as Uta, Bryson Baugus as Hinata, Blake Jackson as Chiguma, Christopher Wehkamp as Chono, Jad Saxton as Haruno, Kyle Igneczi as Kai, Ricco Fajardo as Keishi, Daman Mills as Mike, Justin Briner as Minori, Reagan Murdock as Mitsuki, Melissa Sternenberg as Nanako, Caitlin Glass as Nozomi, J. Michael Tatum as Odawara, Steven Kelly as Ryo, Alison Viktorin as Saku (young), Josh Bangle as Satsuma, David Wald as Usuki, and Ben Phillips as Yosuke.

The Japanese cast includes Sōichiro Hoshi as Hinata Mitsutsuka, Yuuki Ono as Mike Enjōji, Kenji Nojima as Mitsuki Akika, Ryotaro Okiayu as Satsuma Kadonoōji, Tomohiro Tsuboi as Ryō Saotome, Noriaki Sugiyama as Keishi Harumoto, Takuya Eguchi as Kai Akizuki, Subaru Kimura as Chiguma Marume, Ryo Horikawa as Kagetora Nagano, Sho Hayami as Tsukasa Odawara, Ryota Takeuchi sa Washiho Usuki, Wataru Urata as Sōsuke Kagura, Yūya Hozumi as Uta Outa, and Gakuto Kajiwara as Saku Otonomiya.

The opening song is “Titania ” by Sakutasuke (サクタスケ) [Saku Otonomiya (CV: Gakuto Kajiwara), Sousuke Kagura (CV: Wataru Urata), Uta Outa (CV: Yuuya Hozumi) while the ending is “INAZUMA SHOCK” by Sakutasuke [Saku Otonomiya (CV: Gakuto Kajiwara), Sousuke Kagura (CV: Wataru Urata), Uta Outa (CV: Yuuya Hozumi)].

Plot Concept: Brand new transfer student Saku Otonomiya arrives at an exclusive academy that might be hiding a mysterious secret within its walls. As Saku becomes friends with his fellow classmates, his secret talent for singing is revealed. With his abilities known, he learns to embrace his talent and comes together with his friends to prepare for the annual singing competition.
