A new anime adaptation is on its way as it was revealed in July 2020 that Hajime Musashino’s manga series Burning Kabaddi had gotten the go-ahead. That announcement was light with details but since then we also learned of a spring 2021 premiere for the show. The series has set Kazuya Ichikawa as the director with Yuuko Kakihara handling the scripts with Midori Gotou. Mari Takada is on board with the character designs and TMS Entertainment handling the production.
Now, the cast has grown a bit. Initially, we learned that the main cast includes Yuma Uchida as Tatsuya Hoigoshi, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Masato Ohiyo, and Gen Sato as Soma Azemachi. The latest addition to the cast is Makoto Furukawa as he comes on board to play Kei Iura. Furukawa has been around for what feels like forever where he can be seen in shows like One-Punch Man as Saitama and Benimaru in a certain Slime series.
You can see his character profile and actor shot below!
The original manga series by Hajime Musashino began in 2015 in Manga One and Ura Sunday and has thirteen volumes to its name so far and is ongoing as of the anime announcement.
