First time Blu-ray release!

The anime series Bokurano Ours is getting a new lease on life in Japan as Frontier Works has scheduled the first Blu-ray release for it. This looks to be an upscale release as we’re getting twenty-five episodes spread across two discs. The set is scheduled for a January 27th, 2021 debut where it’ll be priced at 24,500 yen. It’s not listing any extras at this time for it.

The show is based on the manga of the same name by Mohiro Kitoh and originally ran in 2007 for twenty-four episodes along with a recap episode. The series was directed by Hiroyuki Morita and animated by Gonzo. The manga has been getting a release in North America through Viz Media who has the 11th and final volume released on September 16th, 2014. The manga ran from 2003 to 2009 in the seinen magazine Ikki.

Plot concept: During a summer camp, 15 children, 8 males and 7 females, find a grotto by the sea. Deep within they discover working computers and some electronic equipment, and later the owner, a man called Kokopelli. Kokopelli claimed to be a programmer working on a brand new game, in which a large robot has to defend the Earth against alien invasions. He persuades the children to test the game and sign a contract. All but one of them sign, barely a moment later they mysteriously awaken on the shore believing what happened was just a dream.
