What They Say:
Japan may be brimming with mysterious monsters called ayakashi, but they have a special exorcist ninja force to counter the threat! Young exorcist ninja Matsuri spends his days fighting ayakashi to protect his childhood friend Suzu. But when an ayakashi cat named Shirogane shows up, things get turned upside down! Legendary mangaka Kentaro Yabuki returns to Shonen Jump with this new fantasy series full of ayakashi and romance!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
Matsuri is having a mock battle with Reo’s mechanical woodman. She wants to collect physical data on him in his female form. Might as well since she’s also fixing his ninja gear. It’s clear that Matsuri’s strength has gone down but his moves are more graceful. Reo is getting excited! As Matsuri’s artisan, it’s her job to know everything about his body. EVERYTHING. Naturally, Suzu starts getting naughty thoughts about the nature of their relationship. Such a lewd girl! How long has Reo known Matsuri? Exactly 312 days, 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 3 seconds. Wow, that’s oddly specific. She must really be fond of Matsuri. Does Suzu have another rival?

Reo will never forget the day that she met Matsuri. It was the first time someone recognized her as an artisan. Usually, exorcist ninja gear would be constructed by the head of the clan but Matsuri entrusted her with that responsibility. That’s why she has to support him with everything she’s got! Randomly, Matsuri gets put in an unusually lewd predicament with the mechanical woodman. It seems that it’s ultimate tickle device got activated! Wait, what? Why does it even have that kind of feature!? In actuality, it has been taken over by Shirogane. He just felt like it was a good time to try and take the scroll from Matsuri.

Matsuri holds back at first because he doesn’t want to destroy Reo’s hard work. She’s totally fine with it though. Equipment is made to be broken. Thus, Matsuri proceeds to destroy the mechanical woodman and defeat Shirogane. I’d say he was a little bit overambitious today. Maybe next time, Shirogane. By the way, does Suzu want some gear? Reo presents to her the sexy gear! As you can probably imagine, Suzu is showing a lot of skin in this gear. Reo believes that an ayakashi would go down easily with this seduction trap. You know what? She’s probably right. The chapter ends with Matsuri wondering about Suzu’s powers and Shirogane sensing the presence of someone in town.

In Summary:
I’ve really enjoyed these last couple of chapters. As I said last week, Reo is a pretty fun character. I hope we get to see a lot more of her. Suzu better watch out! Also, it was nice to see that Shirogane hasn’t forgotten about trying to steal the scroll from Matsuri. Granted, it didn’t go very well at all, haha.
