A new anime adaptation is on its way as it was revealed in July 2020 that Hajime Musashino’s manga series Burning Kabaddi had gotten the go-ahead. That announcement was light in details but now a site refresh has hit that has revealed a spring 2021 premiere for the show. The series has set Kazuya Ichikawa as the director with Yuuko Kakihara handling the scripts with Midori Gotou. Mari Takada is on board with the character designs and TMS Entertainment handling the production.

The initial casting was also revealed with Yuma Uchida as Tatsuya Hoigoshi and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Masato Ohiyo.

The original manga series by Hajime Musashino began in 2015 in Manga One and Ura Sunday and has thirteen volumes to its name so far and is ongoing as of the anime announcement.
