The manga The Gal and the Dinosaur from Moriko Mori and Cota Tomimura saw its an anime adaptation and a live-action adaptation get underway this past spring but got pushed back because of the pandemic after seven episodes. With its live-action segments making things harder in a COVID-19 world, it took longer to get back on track. The show is set to start up again as part of the fall season on October 3rd, 2020 and they now have a new two-minute promo to show off some of what our leading dinosaur’s life is like!
The anime series has Jun Aoki on board as the series director and script supervisor while Space Neko Company and Kamikaze Douga are handling the animation production.
The Japanese anime cast includes:
- Miyuri Shimabukuro as Kaede
- Yuko Natsuyoshi as Yamada
- Youki Kudou as Kaede’s senior colleague
- Seiichirō Yamashita as Shōta
The creators, who are married, began the book in 2018 as serialized in Young Magazine. It has two volumes out so far since it began.

Plot Concept: The series focuses on a gyaru named Kaede who picks up a dinosaur and begins living with it in her room. The dinosaur eats human food, watches TV, and even enjoys being fashionable.
