Funimation Reveals The ‘Appare-Ranman!’ Anime Dub Cast

The 2020 anime seriesĀ Appare-Ranman!Ā from PA Works was picked up by Funimation and both sides had to deal with a delay thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, making the show a summer 2020 series instead of spring. As it’s close to wrapping up, Funimation is now able to reveal information about the simuldub which is set to begin on September 18th, 2020. Caitlin Glass is directing this with Shawn Gann assisting working from the scripts lead by Tyler Walker. The English cast includes:

  • Jamal Sterling as Hanbei
  • Emi Lo as Hototo
  • Marcus M. Mauldin as Kakuzo
  • Jim Johnson as Kuroda
  • Xanthe Huynh as Sofia
  • Ace Anderson as TJ
  • Suzie Yeung as Xialian

The series is directed by Masakazu Hashimoto, who worked on the series composition and is responsible for the original story. Yurie Oohigashi is on board for the character designs with P.A . Works handling the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Appare Sorano, Seiichirō Yamashita as Kosame Isshiki, Aoi Yūki as Hototo, Fumiko Orikasa as Sophia Taylor, Sōma Saitō as Al Leon, Sora Amamiya as Jin Xiaoleng, Kenjiro Tsuda as Richard Riesman, Tetsu Inada as Chase the Bad, and Daisuke Ono as Gil T. Shiga.

The series features the opening theme song “I got it!” by Mia REGINA while Showtaro Morikubo is handling the ending theme song.

Plot Concept: Set in the late 19th century, APPARE-RANMAN! follows Sorano Appare and Isshiki Kosame, two Japanese characters that end up lost in America. Without any money to their names, this socially-awkward engineer and cowardly samurai a trans-America race, which will earn them enough prize money to get back home. Along the way, this buddy racing adventure has the two facing criminals, rivals and all the Wild West has to throw at them as they venture from one end of America to the other in a steam-powered car of their own making.
