The folks at TC Entertainment have another older series making its way to Blu-ray with Toshi Gordian. Similar to some other sets though, while working from remastered materials they’re putting a lot of it on just a couple of discs. The 73-episode series is getting two collections priced at 24,000 yen each. Each collection is made up of two discs with roughly 18 episodes per disc, so even with a remaster it’s going to be tight and problematic. The sets are scheduled for a November 27th, 2020, and December 23rd, 2020 debut.

The 1979 series was directed by Shigeru Yanagawa with the series composition and half the scripts written by Yu Yamamoto. Based on the original work by Tatsuo Yoshida, Ippei Kuri worked on the character designs and Tatsunoko Production handled the animation for it.

The Japanese cast includes Yoshito Yasuhara as Daigo Ōtaki, Gara Takashima as Saori Ōtaki, Hiroshi Masuoka as Unknown G, Kazuya Tatekabe as Barbadas, Kiyonobu Suzuki as Dalf, Kōichi Kitamura as Saxinder, Masatō Ibu as Trosculs, Miki Kagawa as Elias, Reiko Suzuki as Chocoma, Rihoko Yoshida as Rose, Rokurō Naya as Barry Hawk, Tetsu Kurobe as Blasterbuck, Tomomichi Nishimura as Baras, Yasuo Muramatsu as Dokuma Daiteito, and You Inoue as Peachy.

Plot Concept: It is the future. Daigo, a reckless teenager, speeds across the wilderness on his super cycle. He is accompanied by his robot pet black panther. The two arrive at Victor Town, a showcase ideal city built in the middle of the barren land, just in time to find it under attack by an army of fanatics equipped with sophisticated weapons. Daigo and his panther are drafted into a defense force, but despite a strenuous resistance the defenders are soon on the verge of total defeat. Suddenly a giant robot warrior, Gordian, appears from nowhere to drive off the brutal invaders. GORDIAN is a fast-paced SF mystery-drama that will intrigue viewers of all ages as it gradually reveals who Daigo and his panther are, who the invaders are and what they want, and what Gordian is and the motives for its intervention are.
