The summer 2019 and 2020 anime series Fire Force is getting its home video releases handled by DMM Pictures and they set the schedule for it. The twenty-four episode second season of the series is getting an eight-volume release that began on September 30th, 2020 where the first cour has been solicited with four volumes. While we’ve got a bit to go until the releases start hitting, DMM Pictures is now doing a promo for the second volume as cutoffs are hitting for preorders when it comes to goodies at some retailers, and they highlight a particularly good looking sequence here with it.
The Blu-ray sets are priced at 15,000 yen each which is better than the variable pricing and episode counts of the first season. DVDs are being released as well with eight volumes for it through the same period priced at 3,000 yen each but we’re focusing just on the Blu-ray releases. Check out the full schedule below.
Yuki Yase directed based on the scripts overseen by Yamato Haishima while Hideyuki Morioka is handling the character designs. David Production is handling the animation for it.
The Japanese cast includes Gakuto Kajiwara as Shinra Kusakabe, Yūsuke Kobayashi as Arthur Boyle, M.A.O as Iris, Saeko Kamijō as Maki Oze, Kenichi Suzumura as Takehisa Hinawa, Kazuya Nakai as Akitaru Ōbi, Daisuke Sakaguchi as Victor Licht, Aoi Yūki as Kotatsu Tamaki, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Karim Fulham, Katsuyuki Konishi as Takeru Noto, Lynn as Princess Hibana, Kengo Kawanishi as Toru Kishiri, Tomoaki Maeno as Konro Sagamiya, and Kenjiro Tsuda as Joker.
Created by Atsuko Ohkubo, the series began in 2015 in Weekly Shonen Magazine and has fifteen volumes out so far. Ohkubo gained a lot of fame for his work on the Soul Eater franchise. Kodansha Comics releases the manga in North America.

Plot Concept: Terror has paralyzed the clockwork metropolis of Tokyo! Possessed by demons, people have begun to burst into flame, leading to the establishment of a special firefighting team: the Fire Force, ready to roll on a moment’s notice to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might break out. The team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy who possesses the unique power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous “devil’s footprints” (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can the Fire Force discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put a stop to it? Or will the city burn to ashes first?
