The anime adaptation of Erased definitely broke a lot of hearts and fans back when it came out in 2016 and now the show is getting some expanded distribution. With Funimation and Aniplex USA working together more for streaming, the season is now schedule to debut on the Netflix streaming service for fans to check out beginning on September 1st, 2020. The show is available to viewers in the US and Canada where Aniplex USA holds the rights to it and we expect the basic language options which we’ll confirm upon its actual arrival.
The series is based on the manga of the same name by Kei Sanbe, which began back in the summer of 2012 in Young Ace.
The German cast includes Kim Hasper as Satoru Fujinuma, Arne Stephan as Gaku Yashiro, Charlotte Uhlig as Hiromi Sugita, Claudia Schmidt as Satoru Fujinuma (young), Josephine Schmidt as Kazu Kristina Tietz as Kayo Hinazuki, Lina Rabea Mohr as Osamu, Melinda Rachfahl as Ken’ya Kobayashi, Sonja Spuhl as Sachiko Fujinuma and Yvonne Greitzke as Airi Katagiri.
The Japanese cast includes Shinnosuke Mitsushima as Satoru Fujinuma, Tao Tsuchiya as Satoru Fujinuma (10-year-old), Aoi Yuuki as Kayo Hinazuki, Chinatsu Akasaki as Airi Katagiri, You Taichi as Kenya Kobayashi, Akari Kito as Hiromi Sugita, Ayaka Nanase as Osamu, Yukitoshi Kikuchi as Kazu, Takahiro Mizushima as Jun Shiratori, Minami Takayama as Sachiko Fujinuma and Mitsuru Miyamoto as Gaku Yashiro.
The anime adaptation was directed by Tomohiko Itou based on the scripts by Taku Kishimoto and was produced at A-1 Pictures. Keigo Sasaki worked on the character designs.
Plot concept: The series focuses on Satoru Fujinuma, a struggling manga creator who suffers from a peculiar phenomenon called REVIVAL, where he is forcibly transferred back in time moments before a life-threatening occurrence. Satoru soon realizes that this phenomenon will continue to occur only to him until he successfully eliminates the cause of this threat.
