‘Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time’ Anime Dub Cast Revealed

2 min read
Peter's the strongest and most popular guy in town, although perhaps a little too popular...

The summer 2020 anime adaptation of the Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time manga is moving right along and it looks like the series is getting some movement on the dub front quickly. HIDIVE earlier this week revealed that they’ll be streaming the series on August 14th, 2020 with the first four episodes dubbed, and then it’ll proceed weekly from there with them. Now, with the show going live today, it was revealed that Kyle Jones is handling the directorial and scriptwriting duties on this and the main English cast includes:

  • Joe Daniels as Peter Grill
  • Savanna Menzel as Luvellia
  • Holly Segarra as Mimi
  • Delilah Jones as Lisa
  • Joslin Johnson as Vegan
  • John Swasey as Guildmaster
  • Benjamin McLaughlin as Tim
  • Brittney Karbowski as Mitchi
  • Maggie Flecknoe as Lucy

The series is directed by Tatsumi with Nora Mori handling the scripts. Rui Ishige is handling the character designs with Wolfsbane working on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Hiro Shimono as Peter Grill, Yui Ninomiya as Luvelia Sanctos, Ayana Taketatsu as Mimi Alpacas, Hibiku Yamamura as Lisa Alpacas, Akari Uehara as Vegan Eldriel, Sayaka Senbongi as Piglette Pancetta, and Kentarō Asami as Tim Robinson.

The manga comes from Daisuke Hiyama which began in Manga Action in 2017. It’s released four volumes since then.

The opening will feature Yui Ninomiya with “Tsuranuite Yutsu” while the ending theme song comes from Hilcrhyme with “Yoridokoro.”

Plot Concept: Peter Grill is the world’s strongest fighter, but his ascent to the top came with an unexpected consequence: Women around the world, human and monster alike, want to bear his genetically superior children! Since he’s currently engaged to the love of his life, Peter isn’t too keen on his sudden popularity, and it will take every ounce of self-control for Peter to keep his hands to himself and his relationship with his paramour in one piece in the outrageously irreverent Peter Grill and the Philosopher’s Time.
