TMS Entertainment Brings 2nd ‘Cat’s Eye’ Anime Season to Amazon Prime

Cat’s Eye is the most notorious group of art thieves in Japan. No one knows their identities, but for most of Tokyo, the mystery only heightens their allure.

With Nozomi Entertainment’s rights to produce the Cat’s Eye series on DVD expiring last year, it’s been a bit quiet when it comes to the show outside of some Japanese releases. TMS is now looking to expand their offerings of the show to Amazon Prime after previously bringing out the first half of the two-season series in its original Japanese with English subtitles. That landed in March and now the second season of the series has arrived.

You can find the series page here.

The show originally ran for 73 episodes through 1985 and the series was released on DVD in North America through Nozomi Entertainment, who acquired it in summer 2013.

Crunchyroll previously set both seasons as available for members, though it’s only available in North America due to Nozomi’s distribution rights for it.

Plot concept: Cat’s Eye is the most notorious group of art thieves in Japan. No one knows their identities, but for most of Tokyo, the mystery only heightens their allure. To bumbling detective Utsumi Toshio, Cat’s Eye is a colossal pain in the neck. They outwit him and the rest of the police at every turn, making them look ridiculous. He would never dream of being in love with someone in Cat’s Eye. Except he already is.
