When the encounter is magical

The Blue Lynx boys-love label for Fuji TV previously revealed their next project with a theatrical anime adaptation of Kanna Kii’s manga Umibe no Etranger, aka Stranger on the Beach. With an update in early March that has it set for a September 11th, 2020 debut, that’s still holding as Japan is hoping to have things still running smoothly then. We got a clip previously and now the official site has updated to reveal that MONO NO AWARE is the group performing the theme song for it with “Zokkon.” It was also revealed that Mina Kubota, who recently scored the A Whisker Away film, is the composer for this film.

Taishi Murata has signed on as Shin Hashimoto while Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will play Mio Chibana.

Akiyo Ohashi is directing based on the screenplay that he wrote while also doing storyboards for it. With Kii as a supervisor, he’s also working on the character designs with Studio Hibari handling the animation production.

The manga began back in 2013 with three volumes published through 2017.

Plot Concept: The focuses on Mio, a high school boy who lost his parents at an early age. Shun, a gay aspiring novelist living near Mio’s house on a remote island in Okinawa, noticed Mio sitting for hours at a bench on the beach. They grew closer to each other, but Mio had to leave Okinawa. Three years later, Mio returns to face his feelings.
