‘Star Trek Discovery’ Adds New Third Season Teaser

2 min read
The future of Star Trek begins to reveal itself.

The second season of Star Trek: Discovery wrapped up in a big way and delivered exactly the kind of cliffhanger I wanted and a chance to really do something new. CBS All Access renewed the series for a third season back in February and revealed that Michelle Paradise will serve as co-showrunner with Alex Kurtzman. Paradise has been involved in the second season as a co-executive producer and it’s the season where Kurtzman took over as showrunner.

The third season has been undated for awhile and it wasn’t clear how the pandemic was impacting the production. Now, CBS All Access has dropped a quick new teaser with a familiar visual that reveals an October 15th, 2020 debut. Similar to most other projects on the service, it’ll be a weekly episode release series.

The cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Rainsford, Doug Jones as Saru, Anthony Rapp as Stamets, James Frain as Sarek, Terry Serpico as Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as Nambue, Sam Vartholomeos as Connor, Michelle Yeoh as Georgiou, Shazad Latif as Kol, Chris Obi as T’Kuvma and Mary Chieffo as L’Rell.

Plot concept: After making the jump in the second season finale, season three of “Star Trek: Discovery” finds the U.S.S. Discovery crew dropping out of the wormhole and into an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must together fight to regain a hopeful future.
