With the popularity of the Uma Musume series back in 2018 it’s no surprise that we’re getting a bit of a spinoff to keep fans attention with. The four-panel manga series UmaYon revealed an adaptation in the works at the end of 2018 that’s scheduled for a July 7th, 2020 premiere. Crunchyroll has naturally stepped in to handle the show after dealing with the main series and they’ve got it available for audiences located in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
The series has Seiya Miyajima directing it, working the storyboards for it, and serving as chief animation director and character designer. DMM.futureworks and W-Toon Studio are handling the production.
With the main TV series, Tomoaki Oota served as the supportive director with Kei Oikawa as the main director as they work from the scripts by Masafumi Sugiura and Akihiro Ishihara. Yousuke Kashima is serving as character designer and chief animation director.
The Japanese cast includes Azumi Waki as Special Week, Marika Kōno as Silence Suzuka, Machico as Tōkai Teiō, Ayaka Ohashi as Vodka, Chisa Kimura as Daiwa Scarlet, Hitomi Ueda as Gold Ship, Saori Ōnishi as Mejiro McQueen, Yukiyo Fujii as Tazuna Hayakawa, Kōji Okino as Trainer, and Megumi Toyoguchi as Hana Tōjō.
Plot Concept: The horse girls are back to charm you in this special, bite-size anime. Umayon, which is currently serialized through Cygames’ very own app, Cycomics, comes alive as a cute and eye-catching anime!
At a school-turned-training facility, the girls will race, perform, and train… but that’s not all! Saddle up for a short-form anime that displays the laidback school days of the horse girls! Aaaaand, they’re off!
