King Records is finally going the box set route with the 2015 anime series Symphogear GX and it looks pretty slick. The set is scheduled for an October 6th, 2020 debut, it’ll be priced at 25,000 yen and will be a six-disc set for the thirteen-episode run. The show will be spread across three Blu-ray discs while also including the original soundtrack, the character song CD, and a drama CD. It’ll also come with six illustration cards of the original covers. On-disc extras include the clean opening and closing, promos, commercials, and web previews.
The series was directed by Katsumi Ono with Akifumi Kaneko serving as the script supervisor as well as writing the scripts. Character design was handled by Satoru Fujimoto based on Dan Yoshii’s original designs and the production was animated at Satelight.
Symphogear GX is bringing back the main cast with Aoi Yūki as Hibiki Tachibana, Nana Mizuki as Tsubasa Kazanari, Ayahi Takagaki as Chris Yukine, Yōko Hikasa as Maria Cadenzavna Eve, Yoshino Nanjou as Shirabe Tsukuyomi and Ai Kayano as Kirika Akatsuki. It also recently added Inori Minase as Carol Mars Dinheim, Misaki Kuno as Elfnein, Michiyo Murase as Gally Tuman, Shiori Izawa as Mika Jaukaan, Shizuka Ishigami as Leia Dalahim and Masumi Tazawa as Farrah Suyuf.
Property concept: Two years ago, a pair of idols, Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade Amou, collectively known as ZweiWing, fought against an alien race known as Noise using armor known as Symphogear. To protect a girl named Hibiki Tachibana, who got severely wounded by the Noise, Kanade sacrificed herself. Two years later, as Tsubasa has fought the Noise alone, Hibiki ends up gaining the same power as Kanade.
