We learned back in the summer of 2018 with the fifth volume of So I’m a Spider, So What? that an anime adaptation of the property was in the works. Back in February, Crunchyroll announced their pickup of the series and announced their availability for it is set for North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East. The only change we had since then was that the series was being pushed back to a January 2021 premiere as part of the cascading changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic as spring shows became summer shows, and summer shows got bumped and so forth.

Now, Crunchyroll has confirmed that the series is part of their Originals line and they’ve brought out a subtitled version of the most recent trailer as well as providing an updated visual with the English-language logo for it to the right.

Aoi Yuki is set to star.

It comes from the novels by Okina Baba and Tsukasa Kiryu. The manga adaptation is produced by Asahiro Kakashi.

Plot Concept:  I’m gonna survive, just watch me!

I was your average, everyday high-school girl, but now I’ve been reborn in a magical world…as a spider?! Wait–this isn’t how these stories are supposed to go! Can I get a do-over? …No? But how am I supposed to survive in this big, scary dungeon as one of the weakest monsters? It’s “every spider for herself” in here! I gotta figure out the rules to this QUICK, or I’ll have to kiss my short second life goodbye…
